Subway
In the past few years, Yorkdale is coming up with the most modern high-rise condominiums. Many projects are under construction close to Yorkdale Shopping Centre in the northwestern part of the city. These new condos in Yorkdale have been awaited for years as the majority of the neighbourhood has been dominated by mature 2-storey homes and bungalows.
Looking at the landscape of Yorkdale today, it has completely changed with new high-rise buildings that have been completed so far. In fact, over than 60% of the homes in this neighbourhood today are condominiums. Prices of homes here have appreciated by more than 19% in the last few years. In comparison, the average new condo starting price here last year was in the high 300s, you will now find them over the 500s.
Residents of Yorkdale enjoy fast and efficient TTC transportation. Yorkdale Mall has a subway station that is also a transit hub for many TTC bus stops. Major transit routes including Wilson Avenue, Lawrence Avenue West, and Sheppard Avenue West. Buses on Keele Street, Jane Street, Dufferin Street, and Bathurst Street allow residents to reach the subway line on Bloor/Danforth.
Yorkdale is a wonderful community for young professionals working in Toronto because of the easy access to major highways such as 401 which has many on ramps at Allen Road, Dufferin Street, and Keele Street and of course the TTC transit.
Because of the great amenities and convenient access in the city, prices of condos and homes will soon rise once all new developments have been completed.
